Heliobatis is an extinct genus of stingray that lived in the Green River Formation of the early Eocene. The stingray specimens found here are considered among the world’s best preserved stingray specimens. They are a popular exhibit piece for museums and treasured by private collectors as well.
This collection is beautifully preserved, the details of the gills, teeth, cartilage and stinger can be clearly seen. This stingray was discovered next to three Knightia fish.
